Mercy album launch review - The Brag, 21st Feb 2011. By Duncan Idaho
Thank you to everyone who made it to the Annandale last night to launch ‘mercy’. Keep an eye out in coming weeks for the vinyl release!
“Prepare yourself for the roadhouse blues and tangled rock’n’roll dreams of Sister Jane who are excited to present their debut full length: Mercy.
Opening number, ‘Great Highway’, is the soundtrack to your favourite driving memories. From Highway 61 to the Hume, Siste Jane’s country rock’n’roll with a British/Australian psychedelic
flavour is the perfect backdrop for Davey’s rich vocals. Think The Doors meets the Pixies… The band has a classic sound and a mesmerising energy.
Lead by the dreamy Dan Davey, Sister Jane hail from the Blue Mountains (west of Sydney) and are exemplars of Broken Stone Records self-production ethos. With Liam Judson (of Belles
Will Ring) managing the recording duties, the also band features Mark Waite-Pullan on bass and two fellow Belle ringers Lauren Crew on keys and Joe Driver on drums.
Sister Jane will be on tour in Feb to promote their debut full length release: Mercy. Due out on the 12th of February 2011 on cd and iTunes via MGM/GREEN, and on vinyl in March.”
